Gloria Bell
Gloria Bell ha cinquant'anni, un marito alle spalle e due figli che non hanno più bisogno di lei. Dinamica e indipendente, canta in auto a squarciagola e si stordisce di cocktail e di danza nei dancing di Los Angeles. Una notte a bordo pista incrocia Arnold, un uomo separato che sogna un cambiamento. Gloria si lancia, Gloria ci crede. Arnold ci prova ma poi improvvisamente non è più là. Volatilizzato fino alla prossima promessa. Per lui il passato è una prigione. Tra amplessi e abbandoni, Gloria finisce al tappeto ma si rialza e balla. C'è sempre nell'idea di un remake la ricerca di un gesto artistico. La necessità di rifare l'originale non è (soltanto) un semplice esercizio di stile e sta lì tutta la sua bellezza, nella vertigine metafisica che rivela: rifacendo la stessa opera non otteniamo mai lo stesso film.
