Sabato 11 gennaio 2020 alle ore 20.30 Palazzo Pesce applaude il jazz di Herbie Hancock e Mulgrew Miller reinterpretato in chiave moderna e originale dall’N Jazz Trio con Eugenio Macchia al pianoforte, Giuseppe Bassi al contrabbasso e Marcello Nisi alla batteria.
Un concerto in Puglia che attinge dalla lezione indimenticabile delle icone sacre di tradizione jazzistica per poi riproporla con piglio contemporaneo e personale. Un percorso sonoro fatto anche di composizioni originali, che sarà scandito dalla sensibilità profonda, dall’energia espressiva intensa e dalla ricerca costante dell’interplay e di un sound corposo e riconoscibile dell’N Jazz Trio. E di Eugenio Macchia, fra i più fulgidi pianisti jazz italiani della sua generazione, vincitore del Luca Flores Piano Competition, Miglior Pianista all’International Jimmy Woode Award, Primo Classificato al Premio Internazionale Massimo Urbani e collaborazioni con artisti di caratura internazionale come Joe Locke, Edmar Castaneda e Fabrizio Bosso, di Giuseppe Bassi, contrabbassista fra i più richiesti e apprezzati degli ultimi vent’anni, perdutamente innamorato della tradizione jazzistica, ma assai interessato anche alle correnti moderne del jazz e collaborazioni al fianco di numerosi musicisti blasonati in ambito mondiale come John Hicks, Joe Magnarelli e Stefano Bollani, e di Marcello Nisi, batterista sempre immerso in una profonda ricerca timbrica e ritmica, stile riconoscibile e una carriera accanto ai jazzisti più rinomati al mondo come Sonny Fortune, Miroslav Vitous, Antonio Faraò e Paolo Fresu.
