A ottobre 2020 nei Quaderni “Edizioni Museo Ugo Guidi” è uscito “Modigliani a Pietrasanta” con i dettagli dell’avvincente vicenda storica che lega il nome di Modigliani alla Versilia e alle Alpi Apuane nel segno dell’amore per la scultura ed il marmo. Amedeo Modigliani nella sua prima parte della carriera si presentava come scultore e spesso ritroviamo nelle varie biografie edite il suo soggiorno-studio presso Carrara(MS) e le Alpi Apuane, ma in realtà l‘artista ebbe come base la cittadina di Pietrasanta(LU). Dopo le ultime ricerche di Lorenzo Belli si può cominciare a supporre che il grande artista abbia iniziato a scolpire a Pietrasanta dove ha soggiornato nel 1902 e dove è tornato successivamente nel 1913 per confrontarsi con il marmo e con l’idea di risolvere con la scultura la contraddizione linea-volume e forse aprire uno studio tutto suo.
