Un concerto per immagini e suoni all'origine di una filiera che contribuisce a fare dell'ecosistema delle sugherete del mediterraneo un grande polmone verde. Padenti è un triplo ritratto: quello di una foresta nei giorni d’estrazione del sughero, quello degli uomini che in essa lavorano, e quello di una persona la cui passione ha reso tutto questo possibile

Sardegna, seconda metà del ‘900. Un anziano minatore viene travolto da una frana in una galleria. Sospeso in un vuoto temporale tra la vita e la morte, l’uomo racconta il mondo della miniera di “Inferru” attraverso un immaginifico monologo esistenziale. Utilizzando esclusivamente materiali d’archivio, il film rappresenta un ipnotico viaggio tra gli ultimi disperati, e al contempo lucidissimi, pensieri del protagonista, il quale cerca di chiudere definitivamente i conti con la società e con la propria coscienza.

Che cosa è successo in questi 40 anni? Le avventure dei bambini si mescolano con i veri archivi della storia del territorio per mostrare l’esperienza che ha attraversato la nascita della società industriale fino al suo declino.
