Campania, giorni nostri.
Giulio Bassi e Giada Di Biase sono una giovane coppia in crisi. I loro problemi sembrano derivare dalla disfunzione erettile di cui soffre Giulio, ma in realtà sono molto più profondi: insoddisfazione per la vita, imparità dei ruoli all’interno della coppia, ansia sociale, mancata realizzazione personale...
A rompere definitivamente gli equilibri tra Giulio e Giada arriva Charlotte, una ragazzina timida e strana che viene affidata alle cure della coppia. La reticenza iniziale di Giulio nell’accoglierla viene superata quando, insieme a Massimo (suo grande amico nonché portinaio del palazzo), scoprirà i poteri di cui è provvista. Incuriositi, iniziano a indagare sul passato della ragazzina, venendo a conoscenza di una verità che lascerà senza parole sia loro che lo spettatore, inducendolo a chiedersi: quanto può renderci felice vivere come le macchine infallibili che la società ci chiede di essere?
