La prima Guerra Mondiale, la Grande Guerra. I Dimonios e gli eventi della trincea. La memoria, la poesia del ferro e del Cognàc, del fuoco e del sangue. Mentre i Giganti Europei cadono, cadono le vittime sul fango dell'Altipiano. I flash, le fughe e le ferite della Grande Cagnara. Le parole di un autore che si rivolta moralmente alla guerra e alla classe che la provoca e i suoni provocatori di chitarra, launeddas e tamburi, notoriamente strumenti del folklore, intrecciano la narrazione e parlano in questo viaggio con suoni universali che rifiutano la guerra e le inutili stragi.
Il recital tratto dal memoriale di Emilio Lussu "Un anno sull'Altipiano" prende spunto dall'esergo presente nel libro "Ho più ricordi che se avessi mille anni", di evidente rimando a "I fiori del male" di Baudelaire, testo letterario fedele "amico" dell'autore, durante la sua lunga permanenza sull'Altipiano di Asiago.
Il memoriale di guerra dall'alto valore letterario, civile, identitario, storico e sociale dell'opera, traduce in esigenza artistica la volontà di tramandare attraverso il linguaggio performativo di prosa-musicale, il messaggio morale contenuto in essa, nonché onorare la memoria del popolo sardo che con migliaia di vite umane, pagò l'immane prezzo della Grande guerra. È noto che i dominatori aragonesi vissuti in Sardegna, definivano i sardi "Pocos locos i mal unidos", mentre Emilio Lussu, nella sua analisi testuale, sottolinea come per la prima volta i sardi rimasero coesi, seppur nella sventura delle trincee. Riunisce il pensiero collettivo dei "Diavoli Rossi", sotto l'egida del motto "Forza paris" - "Forza insieme”. Unità, solidarietà e fratellanza, furono i comuni denominatori che permisero agli sfortunati combattenti, di trascorrere quei tre lunghi anni di guerra.
