Roma, 13 agosto 1943.
Durante i bombardamenti, nei quartieri San Lorenzo e Pigneto, un ordigno
viene sganciato proprio sopra una fabbrica di via Anassimandro.
La bomba non esplode. Si grida al miracolo.
Un’icona con una madonna viene posta sulle pareti esterne dell’edificio
con una targa a imperitura memoria “Avesti pietà di noi”.
Oggi, Via Anassimandro 15. Proprio nel luogo del miracolo sorge
l'Ellington Club, luogo di spettacoli e arte. Un luogo dove ci si salva
l'anima.
Qui prende vita il “The Miracle Kabarett”, il Cabaret delle anime salve o
in via di redenzione, in un affresco musicale e coreografico che spazia
da Kurt Weill a Lady Gaga, che restituisce un affresco della nostra
storia passata e presente, personale e collettiva.

“L’idea nasce da un’antica storia di famiglia che si è andata ad
intrecciare con la storia del luogo che ho scelto come casa artistica.
Il mio trisavolo Giovanni Emanuele Elia, inventore, creò proprio una
bomba (subacquea). Quella purtroppo esplosa ripetutamente causando molte
vittime durante il primo conflitto mondiale, destinando a lui una
fortuna in termini di denaro ma tante sciagure in ambito personale e
familiare per generazioni.
Si sa, il Karma non perdona. Le generazioni si sono susseguite, fino a
me. Di quella enorme fortuna non sono rimasti che i ruderi, gli stessi
dove da bambina ho capito di essere un’artista. Dove ho capito che
attraverso l’arte mi sarei salvata. Non credo sia stato un caso aver
trovato l’Ellington Club e scoperto solo dopo la sua storia.
Ho provato a raccontare per immagini e suggestioni tutto questo
con “The Miracle”.
