Numerosi autori nel corso dei secoli hanno fornito la stessa minuziosa descrizione del Diavolo, come se avessero visto il suo volto o ne avessero avuto la medesima descrizione.
Dietro a quella che potrebbe sembrare una fortuita coincidenza, vi sono però un misterioso dipinto e una storia di tentazione e follia.
