La stagione di balletti si inaugura con un classico della coreografia sulle immortali note di Prokof’ev dirette da Patrick Fournillier: Romeo e Giulietta di Kenneth MacMillan, in repertorio alla Scala da molti anni, ha visto alternarsi protagonisti indimenticabili e appassionati. MacMillan tratta la vicenda con profonda attenzione alle relazioni umane, lirismo e tensione psicologica, senza dimenticare i momenti di humour, attraverso le dinamiche e le emozioni del ballet d’action. Protagonisti delle prime recite Roberto Bolle e Misty Copeland, per la prima volta insieme in questo balletto alla Scala, nell’allestimento appositamente realizzato per la Scala nel 2010 da Mauro Carosi e Odette Nicoletti, portato di recente anche in tournée in Giappone.
La rappresentazione del 31 dicembre sarà una serata di Gala che vedrà l’atteso ritorno alla Scala di Alessandra Ferri come Giulietta accanto al Romeo di Herman Cornejo, Principal dell’American Ballet Theatre, anche lui al debutto scaligero.
