L’appuntamento è sulle sponde del lago di Bracciano, nella bellissima cornice del caratteristico borgo di Trevignano Romano. I colori del lago ci accompagneranno per tutta l’esperienza che faremo insieme a Nicky Brian e sua mamma per celebrare una festività universale e importantissima in tutto il mondo: la festa della mamma! Il pranzo inizia come se si fosse invitati in una famiglia srilankese. Quando arrivi a casa, la prima cosa che ti offriamo, senza aspettare troppo, sono gli antipasti: i cosiddetti bite, ovvero piccoli morsi. A seconda di quanto è grande la “festa”, ci sono più o meno antipasti. Qui gli srilankesi bevono soprattutto whisky insieme ai loro bite… forse anche troppo! Voi proverete un abbinamento con un vino oppure un cocktail pensato per i sapori dei bite. Poi, a seguire, ci sono le portate principali. Un po’ felici e brilli, si apprestano a condividere il cibo a tavola. Le portate vengono tutte messe al centro, in ciotole capienti, con abbondanza di riso. Anche qui il cocktail o il vino accompagneranno le papille gustative. Ormai le pance sono piene, sono tutti felici, la musica è presente e i drink continuano a essere parte della serata. Poi arriva il dolce: il watalappan, essenzialmente un crème caramel, ma dal gusto completamente diverso. È un dolce fatto soprattutto in occasioni speciali, e quale migliore occasione di questa?!
