Venerdì 1 maggio 2020 alle ore 20.30 Palazzo Pesce celebra “Blue Skies. Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald” insieme alla voce di Chiara Liuzzi, al pianoforte di Andrea Gargiulo e alla tromba di Mino Lacirignola.
Un concerto in Puglia per rendere omaggio alla First Lady of Song, dotata di quell’ironia intelligente e acuta che la portò a dire “alcuni ragazzi in Italia mi chiamano Mamma Jazz. Penso che sia davvero bello. Almeno finché non mi chiameranno Nonna Jazz”. Un viaggio nella vita della Signora del Jazz guidato dalla voce di Chiara Liuzzi, performer e ricercatrice barese, attività concertistica nei festival europei più prestigiosi e docente divisa fra l’Italia e la Svezia, accompagnata dal pianoforte di Andrea Gargiulo, napoletano ma barese di adozione, diviso fra jazz, musica corale e direzione di coro e definito “folletto dei tasti bianconeri, incline, come pochi, a spaziare nell’universo musicale” e “pianista di cultura afroamericana a cui si aggiunge la componente melodica insita nella sua natura napoletana e mediterranea”, e dalla tromba di Mino Lacirignola, belga di nascita e barese per formazione con al suo attivo concerti in giro per il mondo e più di 20 cd.
Una serata scandita dai successi spumeggianti di Ella Fitzgerald che cattureranno il pubblico travolgendolo nello swing di un Cotton Club immaginario.
