* Recommended airports (approximate travel time to reach the event) *

PISA (30 min), FLORENCE (45 min), BOLOGNA (120 min)

Thanks to the presence of the main European airlines and an extensive network of connections with the main European airports, Pisa Airport (20 km from Lucca) and Florence Airport (60 km from Lucca) are connected to the main European cities.

From Pisa airport, there is the PEOPLE MOVER (tram) direct to Pisa Centrale station; once you arrive, you need to change trains for Lucca (€ 3.60, travel time 25 min.) or you can search for a train to Florence / Viareggio which stops in Lucca.

From Florence airport, however, it is necessary to reach the SANTA MARIA NOVELLA train station by tram (in front of the airport, line T2) and then take a bus or train towards Lucca. Alternatively, for you can take a taxi to reach Santa Maria Novella for around € 25, we remind you at FIXED RATE.

Check  http://trenitalia.com/  for exact train times. Car and taxi rental service is available in all airports. For cheap flights check; https://www.skyscanner.net/ TRAIN

The train is the easiest and easiest way to get to Lucca. You have to follow the train schedules but they run fairly regularly.

The Lucca railway station is located in Piazza Ricasoli, in front of Porta San Pietro, which is easily accessible with less than five minutes on foot (Lucca old town center is completely surrounded by its Renaissance walls, so what is usually referred to as Porte are the gates of the walls through which you can access the heart of the city).

Lucca is located on the railway lines that connect Florence with Viareggio and Florence (or Pistoia) with Pisa, so there are many daily trains departing from and to Lucca.

Pisa is about 15-20 minutes by train from Lucca, while Florence an hour and 20 minutes by train and Viareggio about 20 minutes.

IN THE CAR

The tournament is easily accessible from all major European cities via the highways (Lucca Est or Lucca Ovest motorway exits). The exhibition area has a large car park in the front of the tournament hall (via Vitricaia - Lucca on the car navigation system).

The historic center of the city is closed to traffic and many of the areas that allow cars are reserved exclusively for residents. Remember that you need to park outside the walls - there are some parking areas inside the walls but be sure you have interpreted the road signs well.

Lucca is located on the A11 Firenze - Mare highway, the road that connects Florence with Pisa and the Versilia coast. Whether you come from the north or south, you need to take the A11 and exit at Lucca Est or Ovest.

If you arrive from the coast, on the A12 Genova - Roma highway, you must first go towards Viareggio, then proceed to Lucca Ovest and use a faster road called Bretella (there is a toll to be paid on A11 and A12).

If you come from the airports of Pisa and Florence and you have a rental car, follow the signs for A11 in both cases.

Both Lucca motorway exits are located about 1.5 km from the tournament site and 1 km from the city center.

TAXI

Follow the contacts of the main taxi services that serves Lucca and the surrounding areas, useful for those arriving by plane.

Visit Lucca!

Lucca is one of the most loved cities in all of Tuscany, a stage that cannot be missed in a classic itinerary to discover the region. The city can be visited in one day. The city is located on a plain at the foot of the Apuan Alps and is less than half an hour from the Versilia coast.

Lucca is very easy to reach both by car and by train from both Pisa and Florence, making it perfect for anyone who moves exclusively by public transport.

Most of Lucca's attractions today show its ancient history: from the traces of the Roman amphitheater which can be seen in the form of Piazza dell'Anfiteatro to the archaeological remains under the church of Santi Giovanni e Reparata of the XII century (the first the cathedral of the city, located just around the corner from the current cathedral of San Martino), to the various towers and villas from the XII to the XVI century.

Extraordinarily, with the growth and modernization of the city, the walls surrounding the historic center were maintained, which did not happen for many other cities in Tuscany, including Florence. Since the walls lost their military importance, the top of the walls became a pedestrian promenade, today one of the main attractions of Lucca. The area around the walls is well-tended, with lawns and trees everywhere along the fortifications.

Here you can enjoy a bike ride along the entire perimeter, a walk while enjoying an ice cream or simply a rest from visiting one of the many shaded benches that line the main walkway.

Other main attractions include the Piazza di San Michele with its beautiful Church of San Michele in Foro, the Basilica of San Frediano, as well as the Clock Tower and Guinigi Tower, to name a few.

Near the city of Lucca, always in the province, do not miss Versilia and its beaches, the Apuan Alps and the splendid Garfagnana with its small characteristic villages such as Barga. There is a lot to do and see also around Lucca!

You will be able to taste typical products such as pecorino di Pienza, panforte and ricciarelli biscuits from Siena, lardo di Colonnata, pan buccellato from Lucca. In addition there is the delicious Tuscan oil, wine and vinsanto. The most famous Tuscan wine is certainly Chianti, which is not the only one. You also have other Chianti wines such as Montalbano and Chianti Rufina, as well as wines from Montepulciano and Montalcino, Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Morellino di Scansano della Maremma.
