Sinossi
Nel 2017, a 25 anni dalle stragi di Capaci e via D’Amelio, Franco Maresco decide di realizzare un nuovo film. Per farlo, trova impulso in un suo recente lavoro dedicato a Letizia Battaglia, fotografa ottantenne che con i suoi scatti ha raccontato le guerre di mafia, definita dal New York Times una delle “undici donne che hanno segnato il nostro tempo”. Il regista sente il bisogno di affiancare a Letizia una figura proveniente dall’altra parte della barricata: Ciccio Mira, ‘mitico’ organizzatore di feste di piazza, già protagonista nel 2014 di Belluscone. Una storia siciliana. Nei pochi anni che separano i due film, Mira sembra cambiato. Forse cerca un riscatto, come uomo e come manager, al punto da organizzare un singolare evento allo Zen di Palermo: i neomelodici per Falcone e Borsellino. Eppure le sue parole tradiscono ancora una certa nostalgia per “la mafia di una volta”. Intanto, assistendo alle celebrazioni dei martiri dell’antimafia, il disincanto di Maresco si confronta con la passione di Battaglia.
