6 marzo 1977: nel principale programma televisivo musicale di un'epoca dove di canali TV ce ne sono solo due, Gianni Boncompagni presenta un giovane esordiente, proveniente dalla prestigiosa scuderia della IT di Vincenzo Micocci, il "reparto ricerche" della potentissima RCA.
Lo stile del musicista è particolare, così come il testo del brano, e a rivederlo oggi, tutto nel complesso richiama i cantautori della generazione dell'IT-pop di Calcutta e Riccardo Sinigaglia: e alcuni di loro ancora oggi citano tra le influenze questo artista di oltre quarant'anni fa.
Il 45 giri che viene presentato a Discoring è uscito già da qualche mese, nel 1976: la canzone non riuscirà a entrare nella top ten della hit parade, ma preparerà il terreno all'ascesa del musicista nelle classifiche, fino all'incredibile secondo posto nel festival di Sanremo, e al disco che inaugurò una lunghissima stagione di silenzio, enigmaticamente intitolato Sfinge.
Il nome di questo cantante è Enzo Carella: se siete qui, lo dovete almeno aver sentito nominare.
Ma sapete che fine ha fatto, dopo quei remoti exploit?
Si sarà ritirato a meditare in qualche remota nazione fuori dalle mappe?
O sarà stato vittima di un complotto ordito da qualche discografico senza scrupoli?
E se Enzo Carella invece fosse ancora nascosto da qualche parte, insieme a Elvis e Jim Morrison?

Il mistero del cantautore scomparso (Storie di Note #6) è un dialogo-concerto che prova a raccontare Enzo Carella, un musicista oggi ancora attuale, eppure quasi dimenticato: un giallo, o forse un enigma della Sfinge, dove un grande giornalista musicale, Luciano Ceri, e una band che ama i dischi del cantautore romano, gli Arbre Magique, raccontano insieme una storia dove ci sono amore e malamore, e forse anche immersioni e patate alla pizzaiola.
Luciano Ceri, giornalista musicale, si occupa da tempo di storia della canzone italiana. Ha collaborato con numerose riviste di settore e condotto programmi radiofonici RAI come Stereonotte e Notturno Italiano. Ha pubblicato "Lucio Battisti. Una discografia commentata", "Giorgio Gaber. Sette interviste e la discografia commentata", "Ascolta nel vento. The Rokes. Una discografia commentata" e, insieme a Ernesto De Pascale, "Mondo Beat. Musica e costume nell'Italia degli anni Sessanta".
Gli Arbre Magique sono una delle "resident band" di FORTE! Festival, con Matteo Agozzino alla batteria, Alberto Burattini al basso e al mandolino, Alfredo De Angelis alla chitarra e Riccardo Pasquarella alle tastiere - e l'ospite speciale Alessandro Orfini (Manifesto) alla voce. A condurre l'evento, un'altra giovane artista di FORTE! Festival.
