Sabato 1 febbraio 2020 alle ore 20.30 Palazzo Pesce apre le porte a “Chromos” del Domenico Cartago Trio, con Domenico Cartago al pianoforte, Giorgio Vendola al contrabbasso e Pippo D’Ambrosio alla batteria.
Un concerto in Puglia per presentare l’ultimo lavoro discografico del pianista tranese che firma un’intera tracklist di brani originali: pezzi in parte nati prima del 2015, all’interno dei quali riecheggiano gli ascolti che in diversi punti della sua vita hanno avuto peso, Massive Attack, Radiohead e Skunk Anansie fra tutti. Rock ed elettronica sono le venature del suo jazz sempre in tensione e pronto a mutare, spiccando il volo dalla ritmica solida e penetrante del contrabbasso di Giorgio Vendola e della batteria di Pippo D’Ambrosio. Che permettono alle cellule melodiche di esplodere fino a uscirne trasformate e al pianoforte di gonfiarsi sotto le mani flessibili di Domenico Cartago, musicista dal linguaggio personale che spazia dal jazz, al pop, alla musica elettronica, una formazione jazzistica internazionale e una carriera fatta di prestigiose collaborazioni e una ricca discografia.
Una serata fra le pieghe del “chromos”, del colore che dà vita a musiche, per dirla con il compositore, che possono “accompagnare lo scorrere dell’esistenza, quasi come una sorta di colonna sonora in grado di mostrare i colori e le sfumature della vita stessa”.
